Watch this informative video below from QuarkTech Inc. They explain more in depth the practice behind yoga.
So, what is yoga?
“Yoga, this ancient Sanskrit word means to join, to unite or simply the union; it’s all about uniting the body and soul, it’s about merging the mind into the body. For many who take it up, Yoga is a sport, just another fitness option. Maybe they are not aware that the physical aspect of Yoga is only a small part of an entire approach to self knowing. Yoga is about taking the human body to the heights of spirituality. It aims for the perfect union of body, mind, and spirit, through a system of postures, breath control, sounds, meditation, and other practices.” -QuarkTech, Inc.
Please welcome Mary from the popular xCookage channel on youtube. Today, she will teach you how to make your own nutritious energy bar so you can start making some of your own on-the-go healthy snacks (no baking and easy clean up).
This recipe is awesome because it’s EASY. If you know me, I love quick easy to make healthy recipes. Plus, she teaches you how to make your own delicious energy bar with ALL your FAVORITE fruit and nut ingredients.
The picture above is my version of her energy bars. I only used organic and 100% natural ingredients that has no artificial additives or preservatives. Although, the Kashi Crunch cereal I think is questionable despite the healthy marketing. (So if you find a better substitute please let me know.)… And in my version, I omitted the Splenda because the Kashi, marmalade, and dried fruits are already too sweet and that’s enough sugar for me. Plus, I added a whole bunch of other nuts I love… And the result is — it’s sooo deliciously yummy!
Don’t take my word for it. Go try it for yourself.

Mary’s Healthy Energy Bar Recipe
2 cups Kashi Crunch Cereal
1 cup Peanuts
1 cup Sunflower Seeds
1/2 cup Walnuts
1 cup Flaxseeds
1 cup Wheatgerm
1 cup raisins
1 cup dried fruit
1/2 cup Splenda (or other sweetner)
1 16oz. jar Natural Peanut Butter
1 cup Marmalade or Fruit Spread
Put first 6 ingredients through a food processor or blender. It needs to be chopped up fine. Place in bowl and add fruit, sweetner, peanut butter and marmalade. Mix all together and spread in a 9×13 pan. Pat down. Let sit for a few hours. You can cut the bars 7 across and 4 down. You should end up with 28 bars. If you like, wrap them individually and store in a large zip lock bag. They are around 270 calories each. Enjoy!
Remember: If you don’t like certain things, use something else, just the same amount.
