It’s almost the end of the year and the new one is near. What to do and how to start it fresh.

Before the new year arrives, let’s get rid of the old stuff that don’t serve you anymore. Clean your place. Give the things that you no longer use and want away. Things that are just laying around in the corner, closets, and garage that are catching dust. Sell it if you can, but the main thing is wipe your slate clean of those stuff that aren’t you anymore so you can make room for the new things you want to come.

I love that scene in 2012 movie, where the Tibetan monk student was questioning his teacher. He just keep throwing out all sorts of “what if’s” and his teacher responded by pouring tea in his student’s cup. The teacher keep pouring and the cup is now filled to the brim and overflowing. The teacher’s lesson: How can anything new be heard, if your mind is already fulled.

Similar concept here, it’s hard for you to create new things easily when you are already filled with so much clutter and old junks that are blocking the way and taking up spaces. Your new goals and the new you have a much harder time to manifest in your life.

It’s a new beginning. Let’s start fresh with a clean slate.

Holiday is here! Too many things to do? Here are some helpful tips from M Lewis to help you reduce and beat those holiday stress and anxiety:
6 Ways to Beat Holiday Stress

By M Lewis

You’re the life of the party but with the fun comes many responsibilities. There’s the menu of course, the preparation, the decorations, and lets not forget the cleaning. We’ve all been there and can soon be there again. With this, the key is to not let the holidays become about stress more than enjoyment and turn into holiday depression. Stress is never enjoyable and can hinder your life. Here are 6 ways to manage holiday stress:

  • 1. Learn to Say No- This is so hard for many of us to say but so necessary for our sanity. We cannot be everywhere and do everything. Say no when needed, even if it may hurt feelings- it will be better for you.
  • 2. Perfections is Not the Key- Don’t take everything so seriously. So what if the cake it is a little lopsided, it will still taste just as good. Don’t worry so much about everything being perfect. It’s more about enjoying yourself.
  • 3. Take Time For Yourself- Even if it is 10 minutes a day, find a little private time. Go in a closet if you have to and tune your Ipod to your fav song and dance. Or go for a walk but just have time for yourself.
  • 4. Save Your Money- Know what you will spend before you step foot into a store. Figure out a budget. Stick to it. Find coupons, sales or anyways you can save money as not to be stressed later.
  • 5. Laughter as Medicine- The old saying holds true. Laughing will make your holiday memories fonder. Turn the hard moments into jokes.
  • 6. Don’t Think You’re Alone- Ask for help from friends, family, etc. Remember even if you could do it all, you don’t have to. There are people willing to help. Hire or pay for a store bought cake if you have to but don’t put it all on yourself.

Holiday stress is nothing to forget about. Don’t brush it under the carpet when you see it coming. These 6 tips can help you distress before it becomes worse. If you still cannot get a hold of your stress consider seeing a professional.

BryentI remember watching  my 3 year old nephew, Bryent. He fell on the ground and  scraped his knees. I just looked at him and helped him up.

I asked, “You okay?” without making the ‘oh and ahs’…The darndest thing happened, he got right up and told me it hurt–and only sobbed a bit. Then wiped his face and went on playing.

Kids are very impressionable; we never know what they are copying. These are the time, where their life imprints are made. Their watchful eyes are watching, studying, and taking everything, every incident, every action, every word, and every lesson in. Possibly cementing them into their beliefs.

So crucial, we watch what we say and do around them. They’re such an aware and receptive little person.

We all know our flaws and problems. We know we’re addicted to such and such. But we just don’t know what to do about it. And perhaps like me, you’ve confronted this demon a few times already and promise yourself the umpteenth time that you’ll stay away from that strawberry cheesecake! Yes, it is easier said then done.

What happens if a friend offered it to me or I’m at a party surrounded by sweets? Can I resist? I don’t think I have the will power to do so. What if I’m out and about, what am I to do?

Here are some tips and suggestion. The key is to prepare for these situations beforehand. These simple tips can yield you much strength and power when face with food craving temptation. These are some things to help tame that crazy instant gratification monster. Because we know, when it is loose, it is beyond our control in most cases. And we loose all awareness, logic, and will power to make the right choices. If we are tempted to reach for that sweet, ain’t nothing is going to stop us unless a delicious healthy plate of salad or tasty fruit jumps in front and blocks our hands from grabbing that tempting unhealthy dessert.

5 Tips to Handle Your Food Craving Temptation & Keep You on Track Your Healthy Meal Path:

  1. Eliminate junks and processed food from your kitchen completely. If you don’t have it around, more than likely–you won’t eat it.
  2. Replace it with vegetables, fruits, and more healthy selection of food.
  3. Don’t go out on an empty stomach if you can help it. Eat a healthy meal before you head out. This will help you make better choices at the party since your stomach is no longer doing the thinking.
  4. Pack your own meals with you if possible. I know, I swear. I would not be one of those people with little snacks in their purse or carrying their lunchbox to work everyday. But you know what, if you could prepare your own meal and have it with you, it’ll reduce or even prevent you from eating out and having to buy those unhealthy expensive restaurant meals. (Those meals do add up to quite a tab over time. The good news is you might even have some extra cash in your pocket at the end of the month for other things. That’s always good.)
  5. However, if you do find yourself eating out. Choose the healthier alternative. If there isn’t much to choose from, try to eat a lesser amount of the unhealthy meal. Just enough to satiate you. But don’t over stuff yourself.

Okay. Okay. So it took me a while to finally make the call and get a hold of my brother Lo to ask him about his Ultimate Colon Cleanse experience. He didn’t quite go through the whole 90 day cleansing program. He only did their 30 day free trial. His reason, he discovered he needed to eat better. Eat healthier. Eat his vegetables! And cut out his excessive meat eating and processed food. He decided to cut it short and take a different route instead.

I tried recording the telephone conversation-interview (with Lo’s permission of course) but ended up only getting my voice due to technical difficulties. My fault entirely for not knowing fully how to work the software. Below is a short written summary of our talk to the best of my memory.

Faey: So what did you notice from your 30 day free trail of Ultimate Colon Cleanse?

Lo: Well Faey, I’m gonna to tell ya this, I lost 6-7 pounds on it, not that I did it to loose weight because I’m not fat at all. (It’s true, he’s exceptionally thin. If anything, he could gain 5 or 10 pounds.) And my skin ashy-ness went away. Got more energy. Not that I have no energy before. I always had a lot of energy. But I do have more energy than usual.

Faey: What made you try it? Why did you do a colon cleanse?

Lo: I heard it will help me clean my body…and some claimed it healed their back. And my back is terrible…ever since my car accident. I wanted to see if this will work for me too.

Faey: And how are you feeling now?

Lo: I feel good. Lighter. More free. I can feel my stomach. And the food I eat just goes right through me…in a good way of course. And my bowel movement is easier and more natural. Once a day now.
And you know what really did it for me Faey, I changed the food I put in my body… and my back started to feel better. That food really help lessen the pain and inflammation on my lower back. It feels nice.

Faey: Were there any adverse affect on you? I mean, what did you not liked about it. What’s a typical day on it like?

Lo: Humm, you do have to go to the bathroom a lot.

Faey: How much more?

Lo: (Lo laughs.) Let’s just say, it’s unexpected sometimes, there’s a lot of flushing out, usually in the morning for me–just be near the toilet! But the pooping is a lot easier. So that’s a good thing…

Faey: What would you change about it?

Lo: (Lo chuckle.) Just the number 2 business.

Faey: There you have it, Lo’s experience of the Ultimate Colon Cleanse.
