I learned a while back that to grow exponentially or change, one must go out of his/her comfort zone to the unknown (which is mostly uncomfortable at first).

So I have been pushing myself lately to that uncomfortable zone. Stretching myself to become my next ‘upgraded version’.

Just two days ago, four of us went out to one of the beaches in Cebu, Philippines during high tides. There was my fiance, Mark, and his two brothers, Nikko and Raymark.

I swam solo maybe a quarter of a mile from shore. But when Mark’s brothers (who both were floating on a tube in the ocean) informed me that the deepest part of the sea in the world was just a few miles away. At the moment, I decided that was enough out of the comfort zone for the day and headed back to shore.

I don’t know about you, but once I can not feel the floor beneath…that is already the unknown zone. Wow, did I grow as I was swimming back because my arms and legs got tired…but I know if I stop…no one was going to be able to save me and I would have drowned for sure.  (Because we all were beginner swimmers.) So I pushed on forward because I did not know how to swim upward.

Anyhow, I related this to my life…to places where I should have push on forward when the going gets tough or drown. Then I would have atleast learn a very big life lesson that would have grow me into a stronger person. But instead during those times as I look back now, I just dabbled my feet in the ocean but never took the challenge to go into the water.
